Abstract:
This exciting lecture discusses a tribe of prehistoric Texas Indians that we know a great deal about—the Caddo Indians!!! The word for “Texas” comes from the Caddo Indian Culture of east Texas. This culture was based on agriculture and is rich in materials and traditions, especially pottery and body ornamentation. The Caddo Indian lifeways will be discussed before and after the Spanish arrived in Texas in the 1500’s. The Caddo were liked by the Spanish for their friendly ways and similar material cultural.
