Meet Our Leadership
The Hill Country Archeological Association is led by neighbors and friends who share a love for the history and heritage of our region. Each person contributes their time and talents to help guide the association’s work, support educational programs, and keep our community connected to the archeological treasures of the Hill Country. The nine current Directors on the Board include four officers: President, Treasurer, Vice President, and Secretary. The Past President is also recognized for the many past and current contributions received by the organization. The three-year terms for each board member are staggered to provide continuity and introduce new ideas, as three new members replace three existing members on the board every year.
We invite you to get to know the people who make our mission possible and who keep our passion for discovery and preservation moving forward.

NAME: Trudy Eberhardt
BOARD POSITION: President & Treasurer
BOARD TERM: 2024-2026
HCAA MEMBER SINCE: 2020
PLACES OF RESIDENCE: New Jersey, Hawaii, New Mexico, and Texas.

WHY A BOARD MEMBER? I believed I could contribute to HCAA as a board member after working at CWR for a few years and gaining insight into how this organization operates both in the field and administratively. I subsequently served as Treasurer, then Membership Director, and ultimately as President. Additionally, I create the MailChimp emails. I will gladly pass on everything but the Presidency and Treasurer’s position before 2027.
OTHER INTERESTS: I wanted to be a fine artist when I grew up, so I decided to pursue it on the side. As a result, I have been woodcarving and watercolor painting for 50 years, whenever time allowed. Then, after retiring in 2019, I began volunteering at numerous nature centers, and I also serve as a director on two other nature-related boards. I have rescued two German Shepherds from shelters who trained me well on walking, soaking in the river, and ball chasing.
