Ever wonder who the early architects were who designed our buildings, fine homes and Courthouses? Well we have a story to tell of a famous English Architect, Alfred Giles. He arrived in Texas in 1873 and lived near Flat Rock Creek northeast of Comfort. He once owned about 13,000 acres in this area. His ranch, Hillingdon, is operated today by his descendants.
